Z·inc. – 2016
Z·inc Artist Collective
Z·inc is a contemporary artist collective working out of South Surrey, B.C. We work in diverse media: painting and drawing, sculpture, fibre art, installation and video art. Our projects provide an opportunity for personal professional growth as well as for community outreach and participation.
In 2011 we began as Day of Drawing Collective, with 9 artists including Elizabeth Carefoot, Jen Clark, Willa Downing, Lesley Garratt, Reuben Kambeitz, Cora Li-Leger, Don Li-Leger, Claire Moore, and Deborah Putman. In 2015 we adopted the name Z·inc Artist Collective. Current artists are Willa, Lesley, Cora, and Claire.
Since 2013, we have created pop-up shows in diverse venues such as: The Big Draw exhibition in a rented U Haul that stopped at various Surrey and White Rock locations; The Torso Project in the inter-tidal zone at Crescent Beach; Window Dressing: Cabinets of Curiosity in empty storefront windows in Newton. Exquisite Corps, Chimera and Borders and Boundaries all popped up in White Rock. We have invited Z·inc friends to join us at Darts Hill Garden for the summers since 2018.
